Lord, I Lift Your Name on High

Lord I lift your name on high
Lord I love to sing your praises
I’m so glad you are in my life
I’m so glad you came to save us
You came from heaven to earth,
to show the way
From the earth to the cross,
my debt to pay
From the cross to the grave,
from the grave to the sky
Lord I lift your name on high

Scripture Reading

Isaiah 25:6-9

On this mountain the LORD of hosts will make for all peoples a feast of rich food, a feast of well-aged wine, of rich food full of marrow, of aged wine well refined. And he will swallow up on this mountain the covering that is cast over all peoples, the veil that is spread over all nations. He will swallow up death forever; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from all faces, and the reproach of his people he will take away from all the earth, for the LORD has spoken. It will be said on that day, “Behold, this is our God; we have waited for him, that he might save us. This is the LORD; we have waited for him; let us be glad and rejoice in his salvation.”

O Praise the Name

I cast my mind to Calvary where
Jesus bled and died for me.
I see His wounds, His hands, His feet.
My Savior on that cursed tree.

His body bound and drenched in tears,
they laid Him down in Joseph’s tomb.
The entrance sealed by heavy stone,
Messiah still and all alone.

Oh praise the Name of the Lord our God.
O praise His Name forever more.
For endless days we will sing Your praise.
Oh Lord, oh Lord our God.

Then on the third at break of dawn,
the Son of heaven rose again.
O trampled death, where is your sting?
The angels roar for Christ the King.

He shall return in robes of white,
the blazing sun shall pierce the night.
And I will rise among the saints,
my gaze transfixed on Jesus’ face

Confession of Sins

Almighty God, you have raised Jesus from the grave and crowned him Lord of all. We confess that we have not bowed before him
or acknowledged his rule in our lives. We have gone along with the way of the world and failed to give him glory. Forgive us and raise us from sin,
that we may be your faithful people, obeying the commands of our Lord Jesus Christ,
who rules the world and is head of the church, his body. Amen.

Assurance of Pardon

1 Corinthians 15:54-57

When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.” “O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?” The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Because He Lives

God sent His Son. They called Him Jesus.
He came to love, heal, and forgive.
He lived and died to buy my pardon.
An empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives.

Because He lives I can face tomorrow.
Because He lives all fear is gone.
Because I know He holds the future.
And life is worth the living just because He lives.

And then one day I’ll cross that river.
I’ll fight life’s final war with pain.
And then as death gives way to vict’ry.
I’ll see the lights of glory and I’ll know He lives.

Pastor JP Sibley

Mark 16:1-8

1 When the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices, so that they might go and anoint him. 2 And very early on the first day of the week, when the sun had risen, they went to the tomb. 3 And they were saying to one another, “Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance of the tomb?” 4 And looking up, they saw that the stone had been rolled back — it was very large.

5 And entering the tomb, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, dressed in a white robe, and they were alarmed. 6 And he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has risen; he is not here. See the place where they laid him. 7 But go, tell his disciples and Peter that he is going before you to Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.” 8 And they went out and fled from the tomb, for trembling and astonishment had seized them, and they said nothing to anyone, for they were afraid.

The head that once was crowned with thorns
Is crowned with glory now
The Savior knelt to wash our feet
Now at his feet we bow

The one who wore our sin and shame
Now robed in majesty
The radiance of perfect love
Now shines for all to see

Your name, Your name
Is Victory

All praise, will rise
To Christ our king

The fear that held us now gives way
To him who is our peace
His final breath upon the cross
Is now alive in me

By your spirit I will rise from the ashes of defeat
The resurrected king, Is resurrecting me
In your name I come alive to declare your victory
The resurrected king, Is resurrecting me

The tomb where soldiers watched in vain
Was borrowed for three days
His body there would not remain
Our God has robbed the grave
