God's Great Fixer-Upper
Have you ever built something with blocks or Legos? It can be really fun, but sometimes things don’t quite fit, or the tower tumbles down. Imagine you were building the tallest tower ever, but it suddenly collapsed! You’d need to start all over and maybe ask for some help to make it even stronger. In a way, that’s what happened when Adam and Eve did something they weren’t supposed to. They disobeyed God, and it was like their world tumbled down. But God had a plan to fix everything. Just like you might ask for help to rebuild your tower, God sent Jesus to help rebuild our relationship with Him. Today, we’re going to learn about how God restores what’s broken and how we can have a special friendship with Him again.
Genesis 3:8-9 (NIV)
"Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden. But the Lord God called to the man, 'Where are you?'"
Discussion Questions
Activity: "Build the Bridge
Using toy blocks or Legos, have each family member build a small wall, representing the things that separate us from God or from each other (like a broken heart, disagreement, or fear). Then, together, build a bridge over the walls you’ve made, symbolizing how Jesus helps us reconnect with God, just like a bridge connects two sides. As you build, talk about ways Jesus helps fix broken relationships and brings us closer to God and others.
Prayer
Dear God, thank You for always loving us, even when we make mistakes like Adam and Eve. Thank You for sending Jesus to help fix our broken hearts and our friendship with You. Help us to trust You and to say sorry when we do wrong things. Guide our family to stay close to You and each other. In Jesus’ name, amen.

New City Catechism
24. Why was it necessary for Christ, the Redeemer, to die?
Since death is the punishment for sin, Christ died willingly in our place to deliver us from the power and penalty of sin and bring us back to God. By his substitutionary atoning death, he alone redeems us from hell and gains for us forgiveness of sin, righteousness, and everlasting life.
Memory Verse
John 1:1
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
Genesis 3:8-9 (NIV)

Discussion Questions
- Why do you think Adam and Eve hid from God after they disobeyed Him? What does this tell us about how people feel when they know they did something wrong?
- How does it make you feel knowing that God still wanted to talk to Adam and Eve, even after they disobeyed? What does this show about God’s love?
- How can we ask Jesus for help to fix things when we make mistakes or feel far from God?
